Dual screen laptop UX / UI design

In response to the emergence of new work patterns post-pandemic, there has been a shift in the demand for laptops. I have proposed a design concept for a second screen interactive mode based on the guidelines presented by the Marketing team. Dual display design fulfills mobility needs and diverse input behaviors in a dynamic work environment.

As our company primarily engages in the hardware business, we initially approached the project from a hardware design perspective, aiming to incorporate new hardware features. However, as user needs became more precise over time, we discovered that our new objectives are 'more flexible functionality' and 'greater intelligence.' After receiving the user survey results from the marketing team, we proceeded with the requirement definition and analysis of existing products. Additionally, we collected each product's Voice of the Customer (VOC) to make comparisons.

REFLECTION

Need to develop prototype and to execute validation

We need further confirmation regarding the effectiveness of this concept and user feedback.
1. Is the automated response precise enough?
2. Are there possibilities of misjudgment leading to issues?
3. How long does it take to become accustomed to it?

Hardware-related risk

1. Dual screens may consume more power.
2. The 2nd screen may pose heating issues.
3. There is a risk of surface deformation if the 2nd screen is subjected to pressure.
